Food left unattended on a stove is blamed for a fire where a Cincinnati firefighter died in March.
Darly Gordon,54, was killed March 26 when he fell down an open elevator shaft in the building where the fire started.
The person cooking food reportedly fell asleep, according to a report released Wednesday.
Gordon's death was the first line-of-duty fatality involving a Cincinnati firefighter in almost seven years, according to The Enquirer.
He was a 29-year veteran of the department.
