Baton Rouge FF Struck by Hit-and-Run Driver

The firefighter was helping with a previous accident when he was hit by an SUV on New Year's Eve.

A Louisiana firefighter was hurt after he was struck during a hit-and-run incident while helping at a crash scene New Year's Eve.

The accident happened just after 7 p.m. Monday, WAFB-TV reports. A tan or beige SUV hit the Baton Rouge firefighter while he was assisting with a previous wreck.

The firefighter suffered minor injuries from the accident, and he was treated at the scene, according to the TV station. Police are searching for the SUV, which did not stop after striking the firefighter.
