Four firefighters sustained injuries while battling a dwelling fire in northeastern Maryland, including two who suffered burns over 40 to 50 percent of their bodies and were flown by Medevac to a burn center.
WBFF News reports that fire crews were dispatched to a trailer fire in the 100 block of Superior Court in the town of North East early Wednesday morning and that the two badly burned firefighters are in serious but stable condition at Bayview Burn Center.
Several photos from the scene were posted on the Twitter feed of the Maryland State Fire Marshal, and one of them showed a firefighter's SCBA and air pack scorched and blackened from the flames.
One firefighter was treated for a hand injury at a nearby hospital and released, while the fourth firefighter remains at Bayview Burn Center along with the other two, but details on his condition were not reported.
