Baltimore FF Released from Hospital; Fallen FF Posthumously Promoted
The Baltimore firefighter who was injured in Monday's rowhome collapse was released from the hospital Thursday. Earlier in the day, Kelsey Sadler was posthumously promoted.
Firefighters lined up as John McMaster was wheeled out of Baltimore Shock Trauma Center Thursday afternoon, just four days after he was seriously injured in the South Stricker Street that claimed the live of three firefighters.
"A heartfelt moment for #BCFD. FF John McMaster was released from University of Maryland, Baltimore #shocktrauma FF McMaster is truly a #HERO. We will continue to pray for his health & strength as he recovers," the department announced on Facebook.
They also announced that Kelsey Sadler was posthumously promoted to the rank of lieutenant.
Sadler was the acting lieutenant on Engine 14 when they responded to the fire that took her life, along with Lt. Paul Butrim and Kenny Lacayo
"She will forever be remembered for her commitment and bravery to BCFD and to Baltimore," the department shared.
