PA State Trooper Killed also Served as Fire Chief

Trappe Fire Company No. 1 Fire Chief Branden Sisca was killed while working a freeway incident as a Pennsylvania State Trooper.

Two Pennsylvania State Troopers and a civilian were killed on I-95 south of Philadelphia around 12:40 a.m., Monday morning after they stopped to assist a man on the side of the freeway.

Trappe Fire Company No. 1 Fire Chief Branden Sisca was one of the three killed when performing his duties as a state trooper assisting a individual.

The troopers were called to assist a man who was walking on the freeway, they made contact with the individual and were walking him to the patrol vehicle when they were struck, Fox 29 reported.

The impact of the crash caused heavy damage to the trooper’s vehicle ripping the doors from its hinges.

Trappe Fire Company No. 1 said in a statement, “Right now, we ask that you give his family and the family at Trappe Fire Company time to process the loss of an incredible person. Keep all of them in your thoughts and prayers.”

Funeral arrangements will be forthcoming. Any questions about the incident are to be directed to the Pennsylvania State Police Belmont Station.
