MN Chief Strikes Accident Victim Arriving on Scene

A fire chief with the Silver Lake Fire Department struck an injured victim when arriving at an accident scene.

A woman involved in a single vehicle accident near Hale Township was struck by the Silver Lake Fire Chief when he arrived on scene to assist.

The first incident involved Rhiannon A. Phillippi who was driving an SUV that left the roadway hitting an electrical box and knocking down a powerline, according to a report by Bring Me The News.

The second incident involved Silver Lake Fire Chief Dale Kosek as he arrived at the scene he “struck a pedestrian at the scene,” according to a report by the Minnesota State Patrol.

An official from the Minnesota State Patrol told Bring Me The News that Phillippi was lying down on a driveway near the site of the first crash when Kosek struck her. Christianson noted it was still dark at the time.

Prior to being hit by Kosek, Phillippi has sustained injuries. Phillippi suffered life-threatening injuries and was transported to an area trauma center.
