IL FF Gets Probation for Drinking then Driving Fire Truck

April 20, 2022
A Village of Bartonville volunteer firefighter was placed on six-months probation after drinking alcohol and driving a fire truck.

A 20-year-old volunteer firefighter with the Village of Bartonville Fire Department has been given probation after admitting to consuming alcohol and driving a fire truck.

According to documents 25 NEWS received through a Freedom of Information Act request, Caden Davis got behind the wheel of Bartonville’s Rescue 2 on the way to a call of an unresponsive child February 20.

Davis had admitted to police during an interview that he had consumed a few sips of alcohol at a restaurant earlier in the day.

Firefighters that were on the call with Davis told police during interviews that Davis admitted to having several drinks and his behavior was not normal.

When 25 News reached out to city officials, no one returned their call. They also reached out to Davis and the firefighters. Davis told 25 News, there was no investigation, no illegal activity, and the information they received in the FOIA documents is false.
