Civilian Killed, Two MO EMS Personnel Injured in Wrong Way Crash

The Van Far Ambulance District rig was hit head-on by a Dodge Journey traveling the wrong way on U.S. 61.

Two Van Far Ambulance District personnel were seriously injured Tuesday night when their ambulance was hit head-on by an SUV being driven in the wrong direction of U.S. 61.

Terri Rucker, 43, of Bowling Green, MO was pronounced dead at the scene, according to Missouri State Highway Patrol. 

Leslie Dahl, 54, the driver of the ambulance, and Paramedic Jason Bostic, 47, were flown to University Hospital in Columbia for serious injuries.

The crew was returning to Vandalia after taking a patient to a hospital in Hannibal.

The crash remains under investigation.
