TN FF Dies After Emergency Response

Henderson County Firefighter/Driver Richard 'Rick' Miller, 69, died of an apparent heart attack.

A funeral service is planned for Saturday for a Henderson County, TN firefighter who died Dec. 1 after returning home from an emergency call.

Firefighter/Driver Richard 'Rick' D. Miller, 69, was found unresponsive at home. 

CPR was immediately performed and he was transported to a hospital where he was pronouned dead, of an apparent heart attack, the U.S. Fire Administraiton reported.

This brings to 81 the number of firefighters who died on duty so far this year. 

On Saturday Dec. 9, fire and rescue personnel will escort him from Stanfill Funeral Home & Cremation to Sand Ridge Baptist Church in Lexington, TN where the service will begin at 3 p.m.

Visitation will be held following his service until 7 p.m. The family requests that in Lieu of flowers, please donated to Henderson CountVy’s Fire Station #1.
