WILMINGTON, Del., April 9, 2018 – DuPont Safety & Construction, maker of DuPont Nomex, has announced it will complete the addition of Nomex Filament Yarn capacity at the DuPont Asturias site in Spain. This decision marks a total project investment of more than $60 million.

“DuPont continues to invest in ongoing initiatives to improve our asset productivity and competitiveness around the world,” explained John Richard, vice president and general manager for DuPont™ Kevlar® and Nomex®. “This investment decision supports strong market demand, with plans for product commercialization in early 2019.”
Nomex® is a heat- and flame-resistant fiber used to help provide protection to millions of people and critical processes worldwide. The Nomex® Filament Yarn project will support automotive hoses, protective apparel, fire service and aerospace needs.
