    Since 1994, the firefighters at Hot Shield USA have pioneered the best wildland face masks on the planet. Two great options are the HS-2 model and the HS-4, both constructed of CarbonX, the most inherently thermally resistant fabric in the world. The HS-2 model (right photo) is designed with a “filter pocket” for inserting a N-95 respirator filter. This filter pocket reduces the “claustrophic” feeling common to other makes. Designed for intermittent use, the HS-2 is very popular amongst firefighters. The HS-4 model (left photo) is designed specifically for the Sundstrom SR-100 Half Face Respirator, arguably the most efficient, most comfortable and most cost-effective half face respirator available anywhere. The HS-4 protects the user and respirator from extreme heat.
