NFFF Invites Firefighters to the Firefighter Life Safety Summit in St. Louis, MO

Aug. 1, 2024
The 2024 event marks the 20th anniversary of the 16 Firefighter Life Safety Initiatives.

Emmitsburg, Md: The National Fallen Firefighters Foundation and the St. Louis Fire Department is inviting career and volunteer firefighters or fire officers to the 2024 Firefighter Life Safety Summit on August 27-29 in St. Louis, Missouri. This important event is open to firefighters with most of their work life ahead of them as well as those who are experienced, to ensure that all perspectives have a voice in developing the fire service’s safety roadmap to the future.

This year marks the 20th anniversary of the landmark event that launched the 16 Firefighter Life Safety Initiatives. Over the past two decades, the 16 initiatives have been a catalyst for numerous safety improvements in the fire service. This year’s Firefighter Life Safety Summit will celebrate those wins – but will also determine the important work that still needs to be done.

“Many of the current U.S. Fire Service safety policies sprang from the original, ground-breaking 16 Initiatives,” said NFFF CEO Victor Stagnaro. “Now it’s time to address how those initiatives should evolve amidst current challenges—and how they will continue to impact today’s firefighters and tomorrow’s leaders.”

The event is taking place at the Marriott St. Louis Grand, 800 Washington Avenue in St. Louis, MO. There is no charge for registration, but seats are limited. For more info and to register: 20th Anniversary Firefighter Life Safety Summit - National Fallen Firefighters Foundation (firehero.org).
