3M Scott Fire & Safety Showcases Firefighter Solutions at Indy Trade Show
Monroe, N.C. (April 26, 2018) – 3M Scott Fire & Safety is reaffirming its place as the global leader in personal safety by giving firefighters an immersive FDIC International experience this year. Training, education, a new charitable initiative and an unparalleled showcase of personal safety products anchor the company’s April 26-28 activities at the Indiana Convention Center and Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis, Indiana.
“We’re excited to be at FDIC for the first time as a fully integrated brand with 3M, showcasing our combined new-to-market and heritage personal safety products and bringing firefighters solutions in safety, training and protection against exposure to hazards in the line of work,” said Jeff Emery, global business unit leader of 3M Scott Fire & Safety, which formed as a result of 3M’s Fall 2017 acquisition of Scott Safety.
“FDIC is a great time to demonstrate new product capabilities, talk with firefighters and training personnel about their experiences, and learn how we can help their crews get the job done more effectively with our life-saving equipment,” Emery said. “Pairing the proven performance of our products with the innovative resources of 3M to an audience of tens of thousands of first responders is a milestone occasion.”
A premier manufacturer of innovative products, including self-contained breathing apparatus (SCBA) systems and other safety devices, 3M Scott’s well-regarded safety products and global support capabilities provide a broader array of safety products and solutions to first responders. Featured products at 3M Scott’s FDIC Booth #2022 illustrate this global leadership in personal safety, such as the recently introduced Air-Pak X3 Pro. Its most leading-edge SCBA to date, the Air-Pak X3 Pro is engineered to enhance cleanability, comfort and connectivity through details including easily-removable and machine-washable harnesses and Bluetooth technology. The company’s GT-Fire portable gas detection instrument for firefighters recently received CSA certification for Canada, and its Scott Sight in-mask display leads the market in innovation by combining a thermal imaging camera with a display in the face piece for hands-free use. Booth visitors also can learn more about the new HushAir Connect 7500 Compressor System, which simplifies the process of cylinder refilling and dramatically enhances efficiency and safety, as well as the latest innovations from 3M™ Scotchlite™ reflective materials and 3M™ DBI-SALA® fall protection.
Reflecting its continued commitment to help firefighters stay safe through safety equipment, 3M Scott also recently launched a new initiative to aid firefighter organizations in their cancer awareness and prevention efforts. The company has pledged $100,000 in charitable donations to the firefighter community over the next two years as part of a comprehensive program. The first two recipients – First Responder Center for Excellence and Firefighter Cancer Support Network – are being recognized during FDIC.
Also at FDIC, attendees can participate in Scott Sight giveaways, training challenges such as the 3M Scott-sponsored Firefighter Combat Challenge and Hands-on Training Evolutions, and the new 3M Safety Roadshow, an educational mobile unit.
“Whether it’s competing in the Scott Sight Challenge at our booth or participating in Hands-on Training Evolutions outside, we want firefighters to have an opportunity to immerse themselves in 3M Scott and experience our life-saving products,” said Matt Tandy, global marketing manager. “When firefighters leave Indy this week, we want them to know that 3M Scott is committed to the everyday safety and long-term health of our first responder community.”
