FL Firefighter Electrocuted in Paragliding Crash

A firefighter was hospitalized Tuesday after being shocked while paragliding over St. Petersburg.

An unidentified firefighter from outside Pinellas County was hospitalized Tuesday with electrical burns after being shocked while paragliding over St. Petersburg. The man, said to be in his 40s, hit power lines at Bears Creek Park when his motor began to fail, and the crash knocked out power to about 30 homes. Dramatic cell phone video captured the moments right after he crashed to the ground.
