A Pennsylvania firefighter \was sucker punched by a teen at the scene of an emergency call earlier this week.
The attack on Charleroi firefighter Glenn Shipley happened Sunday as he was responding to a call involving an unresponsive man, WPXI-TV reports. A large group of people were arguing as Shipley arrived at the home, blocking the front door.
As he tried to reach the subject of the call, Shipley was suddenly struck on the side of the head. Despite the attack, Shipley still was able to treat the unresponsive man, who needed to be airlifted to the hospital.
"We brought him back. When we loaded him in the helicopter, he was talking to us," Shipley told WPXI.
Witnesses identified Shipley's attacker as Tyrek Frazier, 19, and police have issued a warrant for his arrest.
“All the firefighters know we go over and above," Charleroi Fire Chief Robert Whiten Jr. told WPXI. "You want to help. One or two occasions, you're putting your life on the line, not fighting a fire, doing the general stuff. Some things out here, we got to be careful of."
