A man faces charges after he allegedly attacked a Wisconsin firefighter this week.

According to police, a Green Bay firefighter was trying to get Jamie Dustin Sinclair to move out of a traffic-filled intersection just after 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, WGBA-TV reports. That's when Sinclair allegedly began punching the firefighter in the intersection.

Bystanders stepped in to tackle Sinclair before police arrived, and once officers reached the scene, they needed to use pepper spray on Sinclair, who struggled throughout his arrest, according to WGBA. He also claimed he was from Canada and wanted to return to that country.

Sinclair was charged with battery to a firefighter, disorderly conduct and obstructing an officer. If convicted, he could be sentenced to nearly seven years in prison and fined around $21,000.
