Air quality tests are being done on the Atlanta Fire Training Academy after dozens of recruits and staff complained of health issues, according to city officials.

Eighty Atlanta firefighters were sent to urgent care after mold was discovered at a training facility.

Atlanta Fire Department officials began receiving health complaints from recruits and staff at the Atlanta Fire Training Academy, WGCL-TV reports. They were sent to an urgent care facility to be checked for any upper respiratory problems, but everyone was OK.

The city is now doing air quality tests on the training center, and they shut down the facility as of Feb. 7, according to WGCL. It wasn't immediately known how long the training academy will be closed and what measures will need to be taken to fix any problems.

Air quality problems at the training center have been an issue for years, the president of Atlanta's firefighters union told WGCL. The academy is an older building in less-than-pristine condition, with some windows boarded up and a hole in the back of the structure, the TV station added.
