Three Rochester firefighters were pulled from debris after a wall collapsed during a three-alarm fire in a vacant home on Sunday morning.
Three firefighters were injured Sunday morning when a wall collapsed during a three-alarm fire in a Rochester home.

Crews were battling the fire from the driveway when a wall of the vacant home collapsed, showering them with burning debris.

Other firefighters rushed to their aid and removed them from the debris, according to the Democrat and Chronicle

“I spoke to them, and they’re in good spirits,” fire department spokesman Lt. Ryan Fleming told the newspaper. “It’s a very sobering scene. We’re just very thankful the firefighters are OK and expected to make a full recovery.”

Fleming said the Wilson Street home was being renovated when the fire broke out.

Another three-alarm fire Thursday night in Rochester caused the wall of a commercial building to collapse. No injuries were reported in that blaze.
