Charlotte, NC, Firefighter Trapped in Collapse Debris Suffered Minor Injuries

Charlotte Chief Reginald Johnson praised the teams' swift actions for the positive outcome.

A Charlotte firefighter was injured in a house collapse early Tuesday.

The firefighter became trapped when there was a collapse on the A/B side of the house. Crews worked for 20 minutes before freeing him.

The firefighter was released after treatment of minor injuries at a hospital, according to a release from the department.

"The bravery and skill demonstrated by our teams this morning underscore the training and preparation that goes into every response. Their swift actions saved a life, and we are grateful for the positive outcome," Charlotte Chief Reginald Johnson wrote in a statement.
