Locution Provides Alert Systems to Three Fire Stations in Three States
Locution Systems, Inc., the provider of PrimeAlert Fire Station Alerting for fire and EMS departments, announced the cities of Oak Creek, Wis.; West Des Moines, Iowa; and Lake County, Ind. have chosen the PrimeAlert Fire Station Alerting System for their Fire-EMS departments.
PrimeAlert from Locution Systems is a comprehensive, modular fire station alerting system offering five categories of station alerting technologies, including:
• Automated 911 Voice Alerting
• Visual Alerting Devices & Fire Station Lighting Systems
• Zoned Alerting for Fire Stations
• Automated Mechanical Control of gas stoves, apparatus bay doors, traffic lights
• Fire Station Sound Systems
Fire-EMS departments typically choose the fire station alerting technologies that solve their most pressing problems, and then add more fire station alerting technologies as budget allows in the future, according to Glenn Neal, Locution Systems’ president, founder, and chief technology officer. “Small, medium, and large fire departments all appreciate the PrimeAlert system’s modular design, as well as IP-based and Radio-based station alerting options This approach allows departments to start with the fire station alerting technologies they need the most, and add more over time,” said Mr. Neal.
PrimeAlert Station Alerting in Lake County, Indiana: The Lake County, Indiana deployment of PrimeAlert fire station alerting will include both Internet Protocol (IP) and radio versions of PrimeAlert automated voice alerting. Lake County has 36 fire stations and uses the Motorola Computer-Aided Dispatch (CAD) system. Lake County, Indiana’s consolidated 911 dispatch center provides Fire-EMS dispatching for Gary, Indiana, and the surrounding cities of Cedar Lake, Crown Point, Dyer, Munster, East Chicago, Griffith, Four Seasons, Hammond, Hammond Central, Highland, Highland Central, Hobart, Lake Dale, Lake Hills, Lake Ridge, Lake Station, Lowell, New Chicago, Merrillville, St. John, Schererville, Schneider, Shelby, Tri Creek, and Whiting, Indiana. PrimeAlert® will be serving and protecting people and property in the 626 square miles that encompass Lake County, Indiana.
PrimeAlert Station Alerting in West Des Moines, Iowa: PrimeAlert will be deployed in a total of eight fire stations, in conjunction with the Sungard Computer-Aided Dispatch (CAD) system. PrimeAlert Radio dispatching will be used in five fire stations serving West Des Moines; one fire station for the city of Clive, Iowa; and two fire stations for the city of Urbandale, Iowa. One additional fire station will feature more advanced Internet Protocol (IP-based) station alerting plus automated response timers, fire station doorbells, and red night lighting to help responders safely navigate from dorm rooms to the apparatus bay in the middle of the night while also preserving their night vision.
PrimeAlert Station Alerting in Oak Creek, Wis.: PrimeAlert Internet Protocol (IP) automated 911 voice alerting will be installed in four fire stations: three in Oak Creek, Wisconsin, and one in St. Francis, Wisconsin. PrimeAlert’s advanced IP-based station alerting functions allow for simultaneous 911 dispatching to fire stations, which significantly improves response times. PrimeAlert Radio will be installed as a back-up 911 dispatch communication path. Oak Creek and St. Francis fire stations also will receive wall-mounted PrimeAlert Response Timers (to show first responders the time it’s taking for them to reach the apparatus bay to help improve response times); wall-mounted LED reader boards (to visually display the location and nature of emergency as the 911 dispatch is being vocalized over the fire station’s sound system); strobe lighting; and red night lighting in hallways and areas leading from dorm rooms to the apparatus bay.
“The PrimeAlert Fire Station Alerting System has been saving lives and property since 1993,” said Glenn Neal, Locution Systems president, founder, and chief technology officer. “The PrimeAlert Fire Station Alerting System is highly scalable and provides significant operational benefits to fire departments of all sizes. These Fire-EMS departments will use PrimeAlert® Fire Station Alerting to achieve faster response times, reduce stress for 911 dispatchers, easily handle higher 911 call volume with the same dispatching staff, and reduce stress and sleep deprivation for firefighters and EMS personnel,” said Mr. Neal.
