Miami Firefighters' Vehicles Burglarized Outside Station

Break-ins occurred to 14 vehicles belonging to Miami firefighters while they were responding to calls or sleeping at the department's Coconut Grove station.

Nearly two dozen vehicles parked at a Miami Fire Rescue station were burglarized while firefighters were on calls or sleeping Thursday.

Break-ins of the vehicles at the Coconut Grove firehouse happened between midnight and 5 a.m., WSVN-TV reports. Fourteen of the victimized vehicles belonged to firefighters.

 “When they woke up, they found that their personal vehicles had been broken into," Miami police spokesperson Kenia Fallat told WSVN. "Some glass windows were broken, and a lot of their belongings were gone.”

According to police, two guns were among the items stolen from the vehicles. The incident is under investigation.
