Fairburn mayor calls it "a beacon of safety and service for the people of Fairburn."

The City of Fairburn took another major step towards expanding local public safety measures for residents located in the city’s southern region.

On Oct. 24, the Fairburn Fire Department celebrated the opening of a new station, Fire Station #24, with a ribbon-cutting ceremony marking a key milestone in the city’s long-term plan to expand safety services in response to its growing population.

“This station is more than bricks and mortar,” Fairburn Mayor Mario Avery said. “It is a beacon of safety and service for the people of Fairburn, especially those in the southern neighborhoods who have long awaited this vital resource.”

Created to improve response times, the station features state-of-the-art firefighting technology, top-tier life support capabilities, and a highly trained team of firefighters ready to tackle everything from residential blazes to urgent medical crises.

“With the opening of Station #24, we are now able to better serve our residents and ensure that help is always nearby,” Fairburn Fire Chief Cornelius Robinson said. “This facility is designed to meet the needs of our growing city and will strengthen our ability to protect lives and property.”
