Dewberry, a privately held professional services firm, has been selected to conduct a conceptual site plan and design for a fire rescue training facility in Gilbert Park in Osceola County, Florida.
The project will be divided into three phases. Phase one will cover site development and infrastructure, including sanitary sewer services, water systems for both water use and fire demand, stormwater management systems, entry and exit driveways, and parking. Phase two will include the development of class A and B burn towers, and phase three will include the design of a training building with a classroom and lab, and a fire station with three drive-through bays and parking areas.
“Designing this facility is an honor for our staff,” said Rey Malave, PE, associate vice president. “Working to create a facility that’s so vital to the community is something that we’re all proud to be a part of.”
As part of its initial work, the firm will provide a conceptual site plan, which will show the locations and relationships of all the facilities ultimately planned for the training site, including utility and stormwater management systems. Dewberry is providing architectural and site/civil engineering services for the project, while BBM Structural Engineering is providing structural oversight, Sims Wilkerson Cartier Engineering is providing mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) services, and C.T. Hsu + Associations is providing architectural services.
