MT. JULIET, TN. — June 22, 2023 – The city of Mt. Juliet, Tenn. announced the grand opening of its Fire Station No. 2, a new 9,750-square-foot facility to house emergency services, administrative personnel, and equipment for the city. The city held a ribbon cutting and grand opening ceremony on Wednesday, June 7 with city residents and project partners to commemorate this new beacon of hope and safety in the community.

Fire Station No. 2 will significantly improve response time on the north side of the city and provide additional support for all residents in Mt. Juliet. The new building includes administrative offices, a day room, individual sleeping units with shared restrooms, three apparatus bays and additional support spaces. The facility also houses a communications room that doubles as a storm shelter to be used as needed in the event of an emergency.

“As our city continues to grow, we are committed to keeping our community safe by providing ample facilities for the first responders serving our residents every day,” said Joseph Edwards, interim fire chief in Mt. Juliet. “The addition of Fire Station No. 2 will provide faster responses to emergencies not only on the north side but across the city as a whole, and we look forward to this new facility helping to better protect our community.”

Wold Architects and Engineers, a local leader in government architecture and the project’s architect, provided professional design services for the new fire station, including a site survey, civil and structural engineering, and architectural and interior design from conceptual design through construction documents with both drawings and specifications.

“We’re proud to be a part of this important new space that provides shelter to the first responders of Mt. Juliet and are grateful for the opportunity to work with the community,” said Beth Meadows, associate at Wold Architects and Engineers. “Our team aims to make a difference in the communities in which we live and work, and we look forward to the positive impact Fire Station No. 2 will have on the city’s residents.”
