Call for Presentation Proposals for 10th Annual Station Design Conference
Presentation proposals are now being accepted for the 9th Annual Firehouse Station Design Conference (SDC) to be held May 20-23, 2024, at the Renaissance Hotel, Glendale, AZ. In response to 2023 requests, the 2024 SDC will target fire, law enforcement, shared facilities, EMS, and Emergency Operation Center (EOC) facilities. All attendees may select onsite from any track. We are looking for enthusiastic speakers with fresh perspectives related to design, construction, and all other aspects of public safety facilities. In 2024, a link to all PowerPoint presentations will be provided to qualified attendees on the last day of the conference. You must be prepared to submit your PowerPoint presentation to the Conference Manager no less than two weeks before the conference—May 7th, 2024.
The popularity of the Station Design Conference is because we offer original, timely presentations, Presentations previously presented at SDC or elsewhere, please change the title. As a reminder, conference attendees are interested in educated information delivered without the self-promotion of your firm or company. Attendees’ feedback drives our presentations and presenter selection. In 2023, 86% of attendees were first-time attendees, so the basics of design and construction are always a part of the program. For returning attendees, the next steps, trends and focused presentations are the topics they seek out.
Targeted Audience The dynamics of SDC attendees are changing; besides fire and law enforcement chiefs and personnel, the 2023 SDC included city and county administrators and architects who are planning facilities for fire, EMS, law enforcement, emergency management, training, and municipal departments.
We are seeking a few 30-minute programs, but primarily 45 to 60-minute presentations, including a Q&A segment, to complete the breakout sessions. In feedback from the 2023 Station Design Conference, attendees were specifically interested in presentations that include the participation of end-users (chiefs, project managers or city managers) who have been through the design and construction of fire, law enforcement or other public safety facilities. Some examples of requested programs are in the following areas:
