Futurecom Systems Upgrades Digital Vehicular Repeater
TORONTO (Aug. 3, 2020): Futurecom Systems Group, ULC today announced the introduction of the DVR-LX, a refresh of their P25 Digital Vehicular Repeater (DVR). The DVR-LX provides first responders portable radio coverage after exiting their vehicle. The DVR-LX can be installed in the back of a patrol vehicle or fire truck and is connected to an APX™ mobile radio that communicates back to dispatch.
The DVR-LX transceiver and duplexer housing comes in a 14% smaller footprint than the first-generation DVR and addresses the space challenges found in many emergency vehicles. The DVR-LX is fully backwards compatible with the first-generation P25 DVR. Agencies will also have the option of purchasing a la carte features including the industry first ─ portable radio authentication via a vehicle repeater.
“Futurecom was the first to introduce a P25 Digital Vehicular Repeater to the marketplace and is continuing in our strong tradition of delivering mission-critical portable radio coverage enhancement for first responders with the introduction of the DVR-LX. Simple things such as dedicated handles to safely carry the DVR-LX were added along with various label locations throughout the enclosure to place asset tags and frequency information labels to assist with the management of radio assets. Incorporating these improvements highlight our ongoing collaboration with some of the largest public safety radio agencies”, said Dave Ray, Senior Director of Engineering.
The DVR-LX 700 MHz vehicle mount version is now orderable and shipping. The VHF, UHF and 800 MHz bands will be orderable and shipping in early Q4 2020.
The DVR-LX is sold exclusively through Motorola Solutions worldwide, a leading provider of mission-critical communication solutions and services for public safety and commercial customers.
The terms “market leader” and “industry standard” are used by many companies because of their ambiguity. At Futurecom, we believe in “show me” don’t “tell me”. Futurecom’s radio coverage solutions are actively deployed by over 800 agencies worldwide. Thousands of those units have been in service for over 15 years.
When first responders need RF coverage, they bring Futurecom.
