The Los Angeles, Calif., County Fire Department has purchased a commercial tanker built by KME on a Peterbilt cab and chassis, powered by a Cummins 400 hp engine and an Allison transmission.

The Los Angeles, Calif., County Fire Department has purchased a commercial tanker built by KME on a Peterbilt cab and chassis, powered by a Cummins 400 hp engine and an Allison transmission.

The rig is equiped with front bumper, side body and rear body sprayers for protection from wildland fires, a front bumper turret and a side-mount pump panel. It also has a rear-body dump valve, a rear direct tank fill and two booster reels.

Other equipment include Fire Research scene lights, a Federal Signal light package and a Central Supply International intercom system.

The 100-inch body is constructed of galvanneal steel body, transverse locker compartment. It's overall length is 31.5 feet.
