The Somerville, MA, Fire Department’s Assembly Fire Station is integrated into the city’s Xmbly parking garage/retail space property. Focused attention on fine-tuning the developer’s original proposal, meeting Risk Category IV requirements, and smart placement of spaces that are provided with daylighting were among key architectural and construction parameters.

Although the development of Springdale, AR, Fire Department (SFD) Fire Station #4 is rooted in the foundation of a prototype design that was conceived in the early 2010s, the unique exterior of the station (which is set to open soon) validates the premise that prototype operational consistency and relative cost predictability can coexist with flexibility for improvement.
