Commercial Pumper in Service With Mill Spring, N.C., Firefighters

Firefighters with the Mill Spring, N.C., Fire Department have put in service a commercial pumper built by KME Fire Apparatus on an International cab and chassis.

Firefighters with the Mill Spring, N.C., Fire Department have put in service a commercial pumper built by KME Fire Apparatus on an International cab and chassis.

The apparatus is powered by a MaxxForce 9 330 hp engine and an Allison 3000EVS transmission. To fight fire, it has a Hale 1,750 gpm pump, a 1,500-gallon water tank, and an Akron Apollo hi-rise deck gun.

It is body is constructed of 3/16 inch aluminum with a flex body design.

Other equipment includes Whelen scene and warning lights, Hansen International roll-up doors, and a three-camera ASA Voyager camera system.

It was sold by Safe Industries, Piedmont, S.C.
