New Pumper Rolls Into Downe Twp., N.J.

Downe Township Fire Rescue Co. No. 1 have taken delivery of their first Pierce pumper.

Downe Township Fire Rescue Co. No. 1 was created in the last five years by a merger between the Fortesque and Newport Fire Districts. Downe Township protects a large portion of the "Bayshore" area of Cumberland County with fire suppression and also protects much of the region for water and dive rescue. The new Pierce Arrow XT 2000/1000 pumper is their first Pierce unit.

It has a Cummins engine for power and a Hale pump for fire suppression along with a 1,000-gallon tank. other equipment includes a Harrison hydraulic generator, Whelen LED warning lights, and a Zico ladder lift.

It was sold by Fire & Safety Services Ltd, Plainfield, N.J.
