Apparatus - Mundelein, Ill., Receives Custom Pumper

Firefighters with Mundelein, Ill., Fire Department has put in service a new Severe Service pumper built by KME Fire Apparatus. It has a Cummins ISL 450-hp engine and an Allison 4000EVS transmission.

Firefighters with Mundelein, Ill., Fire Department has put in service a new Severe Service pumper built by KME Fire Apparatus. It has a Cummins ISL 450-hp engine and an Allison 4000EVS transmission and an external storage compartment in the cab with internal access.

For fire suppression, it has a Waterous 1,500-gpm pump and a 750-gallon tank. It also has a 140-inch stainless steel flex body with an overall length of 30 feet.

Other equipment includes a Harrison 6,000-watt PTO generator, A Will-Burt 1.8 Nightscan light tower, a Hannay electric cord reel and a Zico ladder rack.

It was sold by John Tobin of Mac's Safety, Litchfield, Ill.
