Type 4 Interface Apparatus Delivered to Alaska

Alaska's Forestry Division has taken delivery of two Type 4 interface apparatus built by KME Fire Apparatus on Freightliner cabs and chassis.

Alaska's Forestry Division has taken delivery of two Type 4 interface apparatus built by KME Fire Apparatus on Freightliner cabs and chassis. The 4x4 units are powered by Cummins ISL 300-hp engines and Allison transmissions. They have custom interface bodies made of stainless steel.

To fight fire, they have Darley pumps powered by Kubota diesel engines with 850-gallon water tanks with 20-gallon foam cells and FoamPro 1601 foam systems. They are also equipped with Whelen warning lights.

The units were sold by Trailercraft Inc., Anchorage, Alaska.
