New Market, Md., Add Severe Service Pumper to Fleet

The members of the New Market District Volunteer Fire and Rescue Company have placed a KME pumper in service. The apparatus is built on a KME severe service MFD 100-inch cab and chassis and is powered by a 500-hp Cummins engine and an Allison 4000EVS transmission.

To fight fire it has a Hale 1,500-gpm pump and a 750-gallon water tank. It's also equipped with a Harrison generator, Whelen warning lights, Fire Research scene lights and a Hannay electric cord reel.

It was sold by Dave Harman, Matheny Fire & Emergency, Woodbridge, Va.
