The Weatherford Fire Department, in Custer County, Okla., tasked Toyne with building a pumper for its department and recently accepted delivery of its new truck. The new fire apparatus features a bolted painted stainless steel body, built on a Freightliner M2 four-door cab and chassis. It is is powered by a Cummins ISL 350 hp engine with an Allison 3000 EVS transmission. To fight fire, the apparatus boasts a Hale Qflo 1,250-gpm pump and 1,000-gallon UPF tank. Weatherford's Toyne pumper also includes an Akron Apollo Hi Riser monitor and Fire Research telescoping lights.
Weatherford and the surrounding Custer County communities are protected by paid and volunteer firefighter personnel which provide fire and emergency response to over 12,000 citizens and visitors daily.
