The Verga Volunteer Fire Company, West Deptford Township, Gloucester County, N.J. recently took delivery of a 2016 KME Panther heavy rescue with firefighting capabilities. The apparatus built on a KME Panther four-door, seven-occupant cab and chassis with a 22-inch raised roof with full-height rear doors and overhead EMS compartments. It is powered by a Cummins 450 ISL engine with an Allison EVS3000 transmission. To fight fire, it has a Hale DSD150-23X single-stage pump with a Pump Boss throttle, and a 500-gallon Pro-Poly tank. Other features include R.O.M. roll-up doors, a Kussmaul auto-eject charging system, five-bottle 5,000-psi air cascade system with a RSP Space Saver fill station. It also has a Will-Burt Night Scan light tower, Slide Master 500-pound storage trays, Hurst extrication tools, Warn rear 16,500-pound winch and 9,000-pound removable winches with three side receivers for winches. It has coffin-style compartments, cribbing, Holmatro air bags, undercarriage compartments, two front FRC LED Evolution brow lights, a roll-out awning, Roto-Ray, Federal Q2B mechanical & E-2 electronic sirens. It also has a front bumper booster reel, front discharge, front bumper hydraulic reel, and Whelen LED warning lights.
