Christina, Del., Fire Company, 'The Dirty Dozen' Put Engine 12 in Service
Christiana Fire Company of New Castle County, Delaware also know as the “The Dirty Dozen,” recently took delivery of a 2016 Pierce Arrow XT pumper. It's powered by a Detroit DD13 engine and an Allison 4000EVS transmission. The cab is a four-door unit with seating for six-occupants. It's equipped with Bostrom firefighter seats, a Pierce Command Zone and a flat roof. To fight fire, it has a Waterous CSUC20D 1,500 gpm single-stage pump, 750-gallon UPF Poly Tank, and a Trident air primer. Other features include a Kussmaul auto-eject charging system, LED compartment lighting, rescue-style body, saws, fans, tarps, forcible entry tools, Whelen Pioneer LED scene lights, slide-out tool trays, rear LDH inlet, RIT and EMS gear, twin front discharges, Federal Q2B mechanical siren, front brow light, twin Whelen E2 electronic sirens, Roto Ray, MARS lights, and an Akron Apollo Hi-Riser deck gun.
