Leesburg, NJ, Volunteer Fire Co. Gets Custom Pumper/Tanker
Firefighters in Leesburg Volunteer Fire Company, Maurice River Township Fire District No. 1 in Cumberland County, NJ, has taken delivery of a 2018 Pierce Velocity pumper-tanker. The apparatus is built on a Velocity cab and chassis with Quantum fold-down steps and a 12-inch raised roof and full-height rear doors. It also has Pierce Command Zone, an EMS box in the rear and TAK-4 suspension. It is powered by a 500 hp Detroit Diesel DD13 engine and an Allison 4500EVS transmission. To fight fire, it has a Waterous 2,000-gpm two-stage pump with top-mount controls and a 3,000-gallon UPF Poly Tank III water tank and a Trident Air Prime and electric transfer valve. Other equipment includes Kussmaul auto-eject, Akron Apollo deck gun, LED compartment lights, Gortite roll-up doors, swing out tool trays and twin 10-inch side dump chutes with controls in the cab. It also has twin 2.5-inch tank fills, a rear 10-inch dump chute, a Zico swing down ladder arm, a Federal Signal Q2B mechanical siren, a front suction and Whelen siren and warning lights.
