The Avenel Volunteer Fire Company, Woodbridge Township, Middlesex County, NJ, has purchased a 2017 E-One Typhoon eMAX rescue-pumper. The unit has a 58-inch four-door, five occupant climate controlled cab with a 12-inch vista roof, full-height rear doors and severe duty interior. It also has IMMI 4Front and RollTek air bags, Bostrom firefighter seats with SecureAll SCBA brackets, Hansen lighted LED handrails. It is powered by a 450-hp Cummins ISL engine, and Allison 3000EVS P transmission with a Jacobs engine brake. To fight fire, it has an eMAX 1,500-gpm single-stage, low profiel spilt shaft pump with a side intake relief valve and FRC TGA400 pressure governor and a 530-gallon UPF Poly Tank III. Other equipment includes a Kussmaul auto-eject, R.O.M. V4 LED compartment lighting, A E-ONE pto-driven three tool hydraulic rescue tool system (HRT) with wireless controllers and three hydraulic reels. It also has Whelen warning light, and a Federal Signal Q2B mechancial siren, a Will-Burt Night Scan light tower with six 110-volt Magnaire quartz lights, and a Smart Power 15,000-watt generator.
