GA Firefighters Hurt in Wreck and House Fire Collapse

A Forsyth County firefighter was hurt in a collapse at a house fire on Friday and three of his colleagues were hurt when the fire truck they were in rolled over while responding to the same call.
According to The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, heavy storms had moved into the area Friday morning and Forsyth County Fire Department firefighters were dispatched to a house fire in the Vickery Lake area at about 5 a.m. Fire officials told the newspaper that part of the burning house collapsed on a firefighter during the fire fight.
Three firefighters traveling to the scene in a second truck were hurt when it overturned on Shiloh Road on the way to the scene. Heavy rains, high winds and frequent lightning were occurring at the time of the crash, fire officials said. There were no other vehicles involved in the wreck.
The newspaper reported all four injured firefighters were transported to North Fulton Hospital with what was reported minor injuries. The three in the fire truck wreck were treated and released and the care of the firefighter in the collapse was transferred to specialists, the paper reported.
