Linthicum, MD, Sept. 19, 2015—Anne Arundel County, MD, firefighters were dispatched to a reported structure fire in Linthicum Heights. First-arriving units found heavy fire in the rear of the second, third and fourth floors of a large four-story wood-frame building that had been converted into apartments. The fire was escalated to a second alarm, bringing 45 firefighters to the scene, including mutual aid from Baltimore City, Baltimore and Howard counties as well as the BWI Airport Fire Department. There were reportedly a total of nine residents in the building at the time of the fire, and all individuals were able to safely evacuate prior to the arrival of the fire department. Two firefighters were transported to local hospitals with minor injuries.

Bradford, PA, Sept. 25, 2015—Bradford City firefighters attack a fully involved van fire. Five firefighters responded with Tower 1 and Squad 1 and used one 1¾-inch attack line to extinguish the fire. The fire originated when a person was making repairs to the vehicle’s gas tank.

Novi, MI, Sept. 17, 2015—Crews from the Novi Fire Department arrived on the scene of an apartment complex fire to see flames coming through the roof. Engine 1 used their monitor on the fire while firefighters stretched lines for an interior attack. Ladder 1 arrived and set up their ladder pipe. The Novi Fire Department ultimately sent 25 firefighters and 12 pieces of equipment to the incident. The City of Northville assisted Novi on automatic mutual aid, sending two engines to the scene. Two Northville firefighters were treated at a local hospital for minor injuries.

Gardena, CA, Nov. 25, 2015—Los Angeles County firefighters battled a one-story commercial building fully involved. The fire involved Collins Firestone tire shop and threatened to spread to a row of businesses, including the Gardena Shopping Center. Firefighters waged an aggressive fire attack with hoselines, engine monitors and a ladder pipe, keeping the fire from spreading. Special attention was paid to the wind-swept fire brands blowing toward the east. Small explosions could be heard from inside as flames ripped through and destroyed the structure. The blaze was brought under control in about an hour.
