Nov. 7 -- A Miami firefighter was found dead by fellow firefighters before dawn Wednesday, according to the department.
When a crew at Station 14, 2151 SW 19th St., next to Shenandoah Park, gathered to answer a 4:30 a.m. call, they noticed one of their colleagues didn’t report to the truck, Miami Fire Rescue Capt. Ignatius Carroll said. They found him unconscious, without a pulse.
They tried life-saving measures, without success.
Other Miami Fire Rescue department members will transport him to the Miami-Dade Medical Examiner’s office.
“Right now, we’re just trying to navigate this difficult time and make sure crews here are being tended to,” Carroll said.
