A New Mexico firefighter seriously injured in a fireworks explosion last month has died.
Roswell firefighter Jeff Stroble, 46, was one of two Roswell firefighters who suffered severe burns June 5 while packaging fireworks for the city's Fourth of July celebration. Stroble had been hospitalized in Lubbox, TX, following the accident, and as recently as Saturday, his wife had said the firefighter was improving, KRQE-TV reports.

"On behalf of the City of Roswell our thoughts, prayers and deepest condolences are with his family and the entire Roswell Fire Department," Fire Chief Devin Graham stated in an online post.
Funeral arrangements for Stroble, a 17-year veteran firefighter, are still pending.
Ten other Roswell firefighters suffered minor injuries in the explosion, which is still under investigation. Hoby Bonham, the other seriously injured firefighter, was released from the hospital at the end of June.
“Kind of sad to leave Jeff, but I know that he’s in great care over there,” Bonham told KRQE at the time of his release.
