A Tennessee fire chief was killed early Saturday after pushing two of his firefighters out of the way of a collapsing roof.
Decaturville Fire Chief Kenny Fox, 39, was then trapped when the roof collapsed, according to WSMV-TV.
Fox's eldest son who also was battling the blaze at the Oak Hill Cafe stayed until crews located his father's body, police told reporters.
Fox, a sergeant with the Decatur County Sheriff's Office, leaves behind a wife and sons.
Decatur County Sheriff Roy Wyatt said the call for the fire came in around 4:24 a.m. Saturday from the Oak Hill Cafe Bar and Grill on U.S. 412, west of Parsons.
Jeremy Inman and his brother, Randy Inman, were taken to Decatur County General Hospital.
Jeremy Inman later was taken to Vanderbilt Medical Center in Nashville for treatment for third-degree burns. He was in stable condition at Vanderbilt. Randy was released after treatment.
Authorities said Fox's wife and two sons also are volunteers at the fire department in west Tennessee.
Funeral Arrangements
Visitation for Fire Chief Fox is set for Monday, April 9 from 10 a.m. and will continue through Tuesday, April 10 until 2 p.m. at the Trinity Assembly of God Church in Decaturville, Tenn.
Funeral services are set for Tuesday, April 10 at 2 p.m.
