A fire that burned in Los Padres National Forest last weekend has burned about 330 acres and is contained but not extinguished, officials said Monday.
The blaze, which started Saturday night, was 100 percent contained by Sunday morning but might not be out until later this week, said Andrew Madsen, a spokesman for Los Padres.
The fire began Saturday near Highway 33 and Lockwood Valley Road, and about 300 firefighters with the Forest Service, Ventura County Fire Department and other agencies responded.
Resources are slowly being scaled back, Madsen said.
No one has been injured, and no structures were lost. About 75 percent of the affected area was on private property, Madsen said.
"It's still live out there," he said.
Madsen said the fire had potential to grow but that winds calmed, allowing firefighters to contain it by early Sunday.
The blaze came in the same week the local fire departments announced the start of fire season, but Madsen said forest personnel have been ready since before Memorial Day.
"Folks just need to be safe out there. It's really dry," he said. "That's an area that sees quite a bit of fire activity."
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
