Gastonia firefighters battled a large blaze Tuesday morning at a restaurant off Interstate 85.
Fire was reported shortly after 4:30 a.m. at the Longhorn Steakhouse, on Cox Road. Flames and smoke were billowing from the building when firefighters arrived.
Crews were forced to break out windows and cut holes in the roof, to get at the blaze. Crews were still on the scene at 6:45 a.m., but fire officials said the blaze was under control.
Officials say one firefighter suffered a minor leg injury while battling the blaze.
No roads are closed in the area, although there are delays on Cox Road.
