Dozens of firefighters battled a fire that spread through an 8,200-square-foot home in Arlington early Saturday morning.

A caretaker heard smoke alarms sounding and dialed 911 around 2 a.m.

"It's a very large house with unusual construction," Arlington Assistant Fire Chief David Carroll told WFAA.com. "We had trouble locating the fire ... it eventually ran up into the attic and has burned through the roof."
