Stolen Md. Ambulance Involved in Deadly Collision

The Branchville ambulance crews was assaulted as their ambulance was stolen on Interstate 495.

One person is dead Sunday evening after an ambulance was stolen and later flipped over in a crash in Prince George's County.

Two firefighters were in the Branchville ambulance on Interstate 495 when it was "commandeered," Prince George's County Fire and EMS Department Spokesman Mark Brady said. 

The crew was kicked out of the ambulance and Brady said they were assaulted.

Officials say the ambulance crashed at Greenbelt Road and 62nd Avenue and multiple ambulances were called to the scene.

Brady said the ambulance came to rest on the driver's side in a parking lot after striking a half-dozen vehicles. 

Three people were transported from the scene.

Prince George's County Police Officials confirmed that one person died. 

One person was arrested, according to police officials.
