While rescuing a woman from the basement at a house fire, two Cleveland firefighters suffered injuries Wednesday night.

While rescuing a woman from the basement at a house fire, two Cleveland firefighters suffered injuries Wednesday night.

According to Fox 8 News, one firefighter suffered minor injuries to an ankle and the other injured his hand. The condition of the woman was not immediately knows.

Newsnet5 reported the woman had lived in the home for nearly 50 years and paramedics were unable to resuscitate her before she was transported to MetroHealth Medical Center.

The fire located on Cleveland’s west side was extinguished by 8 p.m.
