Funeral services are set for Tuesday for a Jersey City firefighter who died Friday following his shift.
Firefighter James Woods, 44, was found unresponsive at his home. During his previous shift -- on Christmas -- he had responded to an emergency call.
Woods, known for his infectious smile, was a 15-year fire service veteran. He was assigned to Engine 14/Ladder 7.
His death brings to 87 the number of firefighters who have died on duty this year, according to the USFA.
A funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at St. Joseph Parish.
He is survived by his wife and three children.
