Las Vegas firefighters rescued a man who was stuck in midair for about a half hour on the SlotZilla ride at the Fremont Street Experience, officials said.
The fire department received a report about 2:30 p.m. today of a person stuck in the air on one of the attraction’s zip lines, Las Vegas Fire & Rescue spokesman Tim Szymanski said.
A fire truck was positioned at Fourth and Fremont streets to get the person down, he said. The man was unhooked from the zip line and brought back to the ground in the fire truck’s bucket about 3:05 p.m., he said.
Nobody was injured.
Metro Police closed Fourth Street between Carson and Ogden avenues to allow the truck to set up, he said.
Lauren Silverstein, a spokesperson for the Fremont Street Experience, thanked the fire department for its assistance.
“Fremont Street Experience is investigating what happened and will do everything to ensure that this problem will not happen again,” she said in a statement.
SlotZilla, a slot machine-themed ride in downtown Las Vegas, is 12 stories high and has two sets of zip lines.
The ride opened its lower lines, called the Zipline, in April before unveiling the upper lines, known as the Zoomline, in August.
Tickets are $20 for the Zipline and $40 for the Zoomline.
